Search Engine Optimisation

Search Engine Optimisation

Placing your website onto the web does not mean automatic traffic to your site. Despite a brilliant design, many websites don’t bring about the desired results, and get little or no traffic.

Major search engines need to know that your website exists, and what your site is all about. The search engines also need to make sure that when they direct a visitor to your site, the visitor will receive the information they’re looking for.

There are various steps that need to be taken in order to ensure that firstly, the search engine knows you exist, and secondly, to rank your site highly in order for it to be displayed within the first page of the search results.

There are basically two types of search engine optimisation – that which should be done within the design of the website (on-site optimisation) and that which markets your websites on the web, generally referred to as “off-site optimisation”.

On-site Optimisation

If you use BeelbeBerry.com to design your website, the “on-site optimisation” will automatically be included in the design. If you have an existing website, we’ll review the site, and provide you with a report on what needs to be done to optimise your site. We can also implement the changes if required.

The cost of on-site optimisation will be dependent on the number of pages the website contains, with a minimum cost of R 500 for any website up to 10 pages.

Off-site optimisation

Off-site optimisation is basically about the marketing of your website online. This takes place over time, is ongoing, and is relatively time consuming.

Most off-site optimisation includes building links from other websites to your site. There are numerous ways to do this, some more effective than others, and some more costly than others.

The type of site you have, and whether your industry or niche is very competitive on the internet, will determine what the most cost effective off-site optimisation strategy would be.
